BAJORANS
Bajorans
are a race of humanoid beings who are from, like us, the Alpha Quadrant.
They have suffered many years of depression from the Cardassian Occupation.
This occupation ended in 2369. Now the Bajorans are a free race again
they now entering a new era of religious freedom they have not been able
to have for many years. They have always been a very spiritual race,
but the Cardassians suppressed their freedom to practice their religion.
The Bajoran religion states that an emissary will help Bajor and its people
into the future. This emissary is Captain Sisko (Captain Deep Space
Nine). The Bajoran wormhole located in the Denorios Belt approximately
160 million kilometer from the planet Bajor, although only located in 2369,
has been in the Bajoran Religion for many centuries as the Celestial Temple.
This is extremely significant, because it is stated that a person will
be taken through the wormhole and then returned after speaking with the
Prophets and become the emissary. This of course is Captain Sisko.
It has been proven that a race of people do live in the worm hole but it
is not known if they are actually the Prophets of Bajor.
