The U.S.S Defiant is officially classified as an experimental escort vessel. But unofficially, the Defiant is a warship. It was created as a 'first strike' vehicle for use in war, as a direct result of the threat by the Borg. Being stationed at Deep Space Nine the ship has seen many short missions during its time. Including missions into the Bad Lands. This ship is a very sophisticated vessel and was a result of the last short treaty with the romulan empire, hence the cloaking device. |

Many proud ships have carried the name Enterprise. The first spaceship of that name equipped with warp capability - and to be officially designated USS Enterprise NCC-1701 - is launched from the San Francisco Yards in orbit around Earth in 2245. She was designed to explore space and immediately began her first 5 year mission. It conducted these 5 year missions under different captains. The last by Admiral Kirk, in 2271. In 2286 Kirk gave the order to self distruct the Enterprise so it could not be taken over by the Klingons. A sad end for a great ship. |

The USS Enterprise NCC-1701 and her exploits are stuff of legend. But in 2286 the new USS Enterprise NCC-1701-A takes on the name. This ship was Captained throughout its life by the demoted Captain T Kirk. Again this ship was designed to carry out 5 year missions of exploration, which she did before decommissioning in 2293. Her final mission was to escort the Klingon Chancellor Gorkon's ship to the Khitomer peace conference, creating a new era of peace. |

The next ship to carry the title of Enterprise is an Excelsior Class Starship, launched in 2294 and boasts a lower but much longer appearance, Captained by John Harriman. On its maiden voyage Captain T Kirk is believed to die, after a collision with an energy ribbon called the Nexus'. Built mainly to trial the Transwarp drive that failed, the ship was refitted with standard warp engines. Four other's of this class were built, the Hood, Repulse, Intrepid and the Gorkon. |

The USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D carries on in the Starfleet tradition of going boldly where no one has gone before. Commanded by Captain Jean-Luc Picard, she is perhaps the most famous starship in the history of Starfleet. Commissioned in 2363, she is the fifth ship to carry this famous name. She was known as the flagship of the fleet. During its span of service it distinguishes itself on countless missions, but is destroyed in a crash after having to separate the saucer section, with Commander W Riker at the helm, in an operation to prevent the destruction of the Veridian System. |

The U.S.S Voyager is the most advanced exploration and research vessel in Starfleet. Launched in 2371, it is much smaller than the Galaxy Class Starships, with a crew of only 150. The Voyager is Captained by Kathrine Janeway, and was last know to be in the Badlands investigating the disappearance of a Maquis ship. The ship was catapulted into the Delta Quadrant by a being known as the Caretaker. They now face a 70 year journey home. |
